Position
Due to continuing growth in our business and our commitment to quality in everything we do, we have created additional positions for Quality Engineers. Responsibilities of these positions will include:
- Create inspection plans for components specifying methods, equipment, instruments, gauges, etc., inspection frequency, and batch sizes.
- Perform complex first-piece and in-process inspections on critical components, including function tests as required.
- Program and use coordinate measuring machines, vision systems, and other precision inspection equipment.
- Design and implement custom gauges, jigs, and fixtures for inspections and testing.
- Use statistical tools to analyze data, identify trends, and anticipate issues.
- Develop and prosecute CAPAs and SCARs for nonconforming components. Perform tagging, containment, quarantine, evaluation, root cause analysis, and disposition.
- Interact with Company managers and engineers, customers, and suppliers to (i) diagnose quality issues, (ii) address root causes, and (ii) troubleshoot and improve product design and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
We require a hands-on professional with superior attention to detail and the ability to think through problems and implement solutions. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- BS degree in Engineering, Quality or related field.
- 5+ years of related experience in a metals manufacturing environment. Experience in machining or fabrication is strongly preferred.
- Experience with QMS system, preferably 1Factory.
- Ability to use a wide variety of precision measuring tools and instruments, including coordinate measuring machines, vision systems, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and drawings.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, ERP systems, and database systems.
